Forest Fire
Haikou city forestry bureau, south China's Hainan province, held the fire fighting equipments distribution ceremony on Xinhai forest farm July 26 morning. On the ceremony, a batch of forest-used fire fighting equipments & #118alued nearly 0.5 million yuan were distributed to the four districts and the grass-root units of the farm.
This batch of fire fighting equipments included 3 fire vehicles, 8 forest fire patrolling motorcycles, 80 wind-power fire fighting machines, 100 fire guns, fire protection uniforms, etc.
In 2007, numerous forest fires have struck Jiuzhou mountain of Qiongshan district, but the forest protectors had to carry water and climb the mountain, as the urban fire vehicles cannot be driven to the mountain. Fires always had crept over a large area before firemen arrived and resulted in big losses. The new-type forest fire vehicle is powered by both transportation and water-supply systems, and adaptable to almost all the fire situations; it boasts the most effective fire fighting tool in Hainan and is believed to intensify the foundation of forest protection force.
